What this site collects, and what happens to it.

Written to be read, not to be scrolled past. If anything here is unclear, email me and I’ll answer it plainly.

Who you’re dealing with

This site is run by Southern Cross Digital Pty Ltd. The person reading your enquiry is David Lawlor. There is no support desk and no shared inbox — enquiries go to dave@southerncrossdigital.com.au and I read them myself.

What the enquiry form collects

Whatever you type into it: your name, business name, email, mobile if you give one, your trade, roughly what you’re spending on ads, where you’re advertising, who runs it now, and any notes you add.

Along with that, the form records where you came from — the ad, search or link that first brought you to this site, and which page you landed on. That’s the same attribution data any ad account collects, and I collect it for the same reason: it’s the only way to tell which advertising is actually working. It is not used to build a profile of you.

Two other things get stored with the enquiry: your IP address, used only to stop the same address submitting the form dozens of times, and the time it arrived.

Where it goes

Into this website’s own database, held with the site’s hosting provider, and into my email. That’s the whole list.

It isn’t sold. It isn’t shared with anyone else. It isn’t added to a mailing list, and there’s no automated sales sequence waiting for you — you’ll get one acknowledgement email straight away, then a real reply from me, and nothing further unless you write back.

The tracking on this site

Two measurement tools run here, and both set cookies:

  • Google Analytics 4 — counts visits and records when an enquiry is confirmed or someone clicks through to the booking calendar. Google processes this on its own servers, including outside Australia.
  • The Meta pixel — tells Facebook and Instagram when an ad of mine led to an enquiry, so the ads can be measured and improved. Meta processes this on its own servers, including outside Australia.

Neither is used to show you retargeting ads at the moment. If that changes, this page changes with it.

Your browser can block both. Private browsing, an ad blocker, or turning off third-party cookies will all stop them, and nothing on this site breaks if you do — the enquiry form works exactly the same either way.

If you ask me to look at your ad account

A health check needs read-only access to your Google Ads or Meta account. Read-only means I can see what’s in it and change nothing. I use that access to write your report and for nothing else, and you can revoke it from your own account the moment you want to — you don’t need to ask me, and I’d rather you knew that up front.

Anything I see in your account stays between us. I don’t use one business’s numbers as a case study for another without asking first, in writing, and being told yes.

How long I keep it

Enquiries are kept while there’s a reasonable chance of doing business, and reviewed periodically after that. If you’d like yours deleted sooner, ask and I’ll delete it — you don’t need to give a reason.

Asking for your data, or asking me to delete it

Email dave@southerncrossdigital.com.au and say what you want. I’ll send you everything I hold about you, or delete it, within a few days. There’s no form to fill in for this.

The honest limit of this page. This is a plain-English description of what I actually do with your information, written by me, not a lawyer’s document. It’s accurate. If you need a formal privacy statement for a procurement process or a contract, tell me and I’ll get one drawn up properly rather than pretending this is that.
